About The Alpaca Collection

The Alpaca Collection is the largest UK based wholesale business specialising exclusively in pure Alpaca knitwear. Our Customers include Palaces, Castles, Cruise Ships, Mail Order catalogues, multiple retailers and Visitor Centres but the core of our business are independent clothes shops for ladies and gentlemen and top market gifts shops where customers are looking for luxury and exclusivity.

Geographically, we have customers in North America, Europe, Japan and Africa with the majority of our 120 customers being based in the United Kingdom.

We design our own products and we knit from our Customer’s designs but the home of Alpaca is South America and generations of knitters have produced wonderful designs and a large proportion of each year’s collection include these unique combinations of unusual styles and rich colours.

We produce a new Collection in January each year for the following Autumn/Winter - although it is available from May onwards for seasonal businesses in Scotland. A strong discount structure ensures that quantity purchases are recognised and rewarded.

We offer two distinct services. Our first class wholesaling service is operated on a normal commercial basis and can include knitting to Customers’ individual designs, specifications and labelling.

We also offer the opportunity for customers to operate under a Concessions basis. This has proved both successful and popular especially where our customer’s main business is seasonal or where knitwear is not the main focus. By funding, sourcing, providing PR and replenishing, we make it a pleasure for customers to sell Alpaca.

We believe that Alpaca is one of the finest yarns available and it makes for the most luxurious products. Our customers agree as over 80% reorder year on year. We chose the motto, “Quality you can feel” for a very good reason. The beauty of Alpaca is in its sheer softness and luxurious feel. It is naturally warm yet light, is extremely hard wearing and resist pilling. Treated properly, a garment will last for many years.
